Therapeutic physical activities

Physical exercise is fundamental in supporting someone’s emotional wellbeing.

Research shows how effective it is at reducing cortisol (stress hormone) and releasing endorphins, serotonin and dopamine (feel good hormones) to reduce stress, anxiety and depression.

At NAOS we deliver a variety of physical activities for both groups and individuals. With the support of trained clinicians physical activities are introduced which best suit the client’s ability and needs.

Supported by our therapist team individuals have taken part in water sports activities run by a partner organisation.

In challenging themselves, to try new things, clients have been able to actively explore any emotional dysregulation, anxieties, defence and coping strategies they may be experiencing and to work through these experiences positively with their therapist.

We are only able to accept new adult self-referrals currently.
